Small Girl, Big Ideas

lazy days

We all have days where we really just want to sit around and do absolutely nothing. This weekend, I really didn't feel much like leaving the house and spent most of my time on my desktop playing a video game with my husband (I'm in love with Guild Wars 2....anyone else? Probably not? If you are lemme know). I still have things to do though - like grocery shop, take photos of a recipe for the blog, and brave the weather to take Teemo on his long peaceful walks. No one ever shows their lazy outfits, you know, the stuff we wear on days where it's too cold in my home to wear a cute dress. Plus, I think these leggings are the best - I've had them for years and the gold sparkly dots are still perfectly in tact.

So here we are, back to the old porch shots. I wanted to be able to have Teemo in my photos without his leash and just be in our natural state today.

  1. I have to say, your lazy day outfits are so much more fashionable than mine. I'm a fan of my oversized t-shirts and leggings. Whoot! Teemo looks adorable in the picture of your shoes, where he's looking right up at the camera, out of focus. :)

  7. Lazy days, uggggh I love 'em! :) Before I got swamped with grad apps this fall, I was loving my Skyrim-filled weekends. So good!

  8. Not sure if my comment went through or not. Having internet problems since the storm. Anyway, I wanted to say that I love your leggins because they remind me of a pair of long john thermals I had when I was 8 that I wore constantly. They were so fun. You certainly do look cozy. I totally could use a lazy day!!

  10. This is definitely a perfect casual outfit!! I love longer hooded sweaters like this one, so cozy for a day spent around the house. Those spotted leggings are super cute as are your sparkly shoes and Teemo, of course.
I am so bad at video games, I tend to get too stressed out when I play them, which is ridiculously silly. Except sonic the hedgehog, I love that game

  15. I love lazy day outfits! Sometimes I feel like fashion bloggers (myself included) feel insane pressure to constantly look nice and way too put together in our outfit posts - why can't we just look like cute, normal people!? anyway, I love this, especially those polka dotted leggings. mmmm comfy :]

  27. It sounds like a pretty perfect weekend to me! I know what you mean about video games, I haven't touched The Sims in like a year but I know if I were to play with it now, I would be on it for literally HOURS!

  28. We had a very similar weekend, except me and my guy played Marvel vs Capcom! Is Teemo a cardigan?

    1. He's a Pembroke mixed with terrier, most likely Jack Russel. We also joke about fox and ferret being mixed in there too. He seems most likely to have been a corgi/terrier hybrid from a puppy mill that was rejected due to his overbite (based on where he was picked up as a stray)

  32. Your lazy weekend sounds just like mine! What is it about cold weather and not wanting to leave the house? Anyhow, you make comfortable look like the cutest thing ever! I need to take a lesson here - my comfy cloths don't stretch far beyond hoods and yoga pants :) xo Marisa

  33. You and the puppy look fantastic! My husband started on Guild Wars, but I've decided I can't start anything new until I get done with Skyrim (yes, I am that far behind). I started it when it came out but never got around to finishing it!

  36. My boyfriend tried to get me into Guild Wars 2 and it's pretty fun, but I have been much more obsessed with playing Oblivion lately! Wheeee I like to pretend I have magical powers and can make fire shoot out of my hands. I am cool like that. Although the character I created in Guild Wars was really awesome, I think she was a Sylvari and she had purple skin. Ohh my cool points have just doubled. This is a very long comment. Nice to meet you! Goodbye.

    1. That's awesome! We tried Diablo 3 for awhile but it was one of the first games I just couldn't get into. I really love guild wars - there is a lot to do and I never get bored. Plus I can make all of my characters clothing whatever color I want :D

  51. those SHOES! agh! best casual glam ever! Nothing wrong with a cute legging look, and it is most definitely functional. I've worn the same pair two days in a row (shh). Also nothing wrong with a lazy day or couple of days, sometimes that certainly feels best. I laughed out loud at "Guild Wars" because I have no idea what that is, but it sounds intriguing and hilarious. I was a big fan of Zoo Tycoon back in the day.
